Tips and Tricks

The proper application of kiln wash is extremely important

Primo Primer is  recommended and removes easily with a soft paintbrush

High Fire Primo is also available but slightly more difficult to remove

Please follow the application and drying instructions that are provided with the product and with the molds

The primer has a color tint that will fade to white when it is completely dry

There are several 'tricks' that have been passed my way lately

One is to apply the primer and fire to dry according to directions and then to lightly dust the mold with dry primer right before use

Another is as above but with one last coat air-dried just before use

Always check your primer after each firing and reapply as necessary

If primer has accumulated in the detail of the mold -allow the primer to dry completely and then brush lightly with a soft paintbrush

do not scrape or 'dig' with a hard object
